  William Lark, Jr. is a PhD candidate at the MIT Media Laboratory and the principle designer of Hiriko - a realization of the MIT CityCar concept vehicle. He began his studies in the department of mechanical engineering with a concentration in design. As a graduate research assistant at the Media Lab he has studied multiple projects focused on sustainable mobility, vehicle platforms, infusing parametric modeling, dynamic ergonomic design, and rapid prototyping. Throughout his studies, Will has also been engaged in a diverse set of projects involving the research of modular energy systems, driver interfaces, and modular robotic wheels. Will’s current work focuses on the design and engineering of Hiriko and future mobility systems to further enable solutions for “Mobility-on-Demand” services.
